Draws

I achieved a remarkable feat the other day. . . . four consecutive draws! The phenomenon is weird since I generally only draw about 7% of all my games. According to my math the probability is roughly 1 in 50,000 to have four draws in a row (based on my current 7% rate).

To celebrate this event, I have posted this picture (probably my favorite chess-related cartoon). I love the irony of it!

After revieing this picture for the millionth time, I only today realized there are no bishops! Queens, knights, pawns, and rooks.... but no bishops. Very odd.

Hi BlueEyedRook,

I like your blog. I am a major chess enthusiast with a full-time job, wife and kids, limited time to spend on chess.

I have been taking a break from FICS
( handle = turnipcake )to mostly do tactics problems which I
much enjoy. I am rated about 1675 there, I think.

Last time I played live chess was in
New York's Washington Square Park, several months ago. I played a former high-school National Speed Chess Champion two games and won both. I suspect either he was having
a very bad day, or else I was having
a very good day. If anyone is interested I could post one of the games for analysis.

Anyhow, I am looking for nice, well-adjusted folks to play with on FICS. Win or lose we would do a post-mortem analysis in a friendly way ( if we have the time, obviously).

Basically, I am tired of playing people with adversarial attitudes, and am looking for like-minded people who quest for chess understanding and just want to have fun with chess.
